Come charter fishing in Key West with award-winning Capt. aboard his 43? custom built charter fishing vessel, a custom 43? Torres sportfisherman. Constructed in 2002 by renowned Key West boat builder Claude Torres, she incorporates specific design features requested by Capt. which renders her an ideal Key West charter fishing platform. They offer Key West fishing charters for up to 6 anglers with a highly skilled fishing crew that is kids friendly and courteous.
Clients notice right away the open uncluttered layout. The cockpit where actual fishing takes place measures an amazing 12’x15. and is the largest in the fleet, ensuring plenty of room, even for groups of 6. Forward of the cockpit, inside the cabin, clients find comfortable seating around a dinette, and on a large, cushioned bench with plenty of room to lie down. Along the port side of the cabin are a large built-in drink box and wet bar. Forward of the cabin, a companionway leads below deck to a full-sized private bathroom.
This beautiful vessel features a superb electronics package including multiple VHF radios, multiple fish-finding depth sounders, GPS /chart plotting, and radar by NorthStar and Simrad. The two-tiered live well system located in the cockpit is state of the art and allows them to keep huge quantities of live bait healthy all day. During the winter months, the type, quality, and quantity of live bait are often the key to a successful day. As a client aboard this vessel, you will enjoy the benefits of a superior live bait system.
The boat is also equipped with a ‘Tuna Tower’ which is the aluminum superstructure above the bridge deck. With full controls and electronics in the ‘tower’ Capt. can operate the vessel while perched thirty feet above the water's surface. We cannot over-emphasize how valuable a tower is to successful Key West Fishing. Whether you are chasing Sailfish as they ‘shower’ bait during the late fall and early winter, looking for ‘tailing’ Cobia on a color change in the spring, or finding floating debris and the associated Dolphin out in the deep sea during the summer, the tower is used all year long as a vital tool to help the clients catch more fish.
About The Captain: Our captain is a multiple-time winner of both local and international fishing tournaments as well as an Orvis-endorsed guide. He has fished all over the Caribbean and was awarded top Captain several times. He has released a huge number of billfish while fishing all over the Caribbean. In recent years Captain’s accomplishments include a 2007 1st place finish in the Key West Challenge fishing tournament, which is a Charter Boat-only event. He has also had multiple top 5 finishes in this annual event including a 4th place finish in 2012. In May 2012, he was the winning Captain of the 49th annual International Masters Angling Tournament held in Isla Mujeres Mexico. This invitation-only Sailfish Tournament features some of the best-known Captains and anglers in the world. In April 2013 Capt. returned to Isla Mujeres Mexico where he was the repeat winning Captain of the 50th annual Masters Angling Tournament. With the win, Capt. became the first Captain in the 50-year history of the event to win in back-to-back years.
